Freedom Life Convenes Regional Reentry Council
Last week Freedom Life from Avery, Yancey, and McDowell Counties met on the campus of Mayland Community College with a variety of community partners to provide updates on program developments and share successes of their programs. Freedom Life serves justice involved individuals and their families with programs designed to help clients begin a journey to a new life. This meeting served as the kick off for the formation of the 
Rural Appalachia Regional Reentry Council where Action Teams were discussed around the topics of housing, transportation, employment, legal, family wellness, advocacy and awareness, substance use/mental health, community networking, and church networking.
