Wilkes Housing and Outreach Center
The Hospitality House has opened a Wilkes Housing & Outreach Center located at 1904 West Park Drive in North Wilkesboro, situated between Wilkes Recovery Revolution and The Health Foundation, Inc. This space allows service coordinators to safely and securely connect with families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Wilkes County and provide access to resources.
Hospitality House has been working in Wilkes since 1995 with Permanent Supportive Housing and Scattered Site Housing programs. This addition allows staff to meet people where they are — tents, cars, woods, barns, etc. — and begin the process of moving them out of homelessness and into their own homes. In the past two years, 303 people have been moved out of homelessness.
