NCWorks Attends Advanced Manufacturing Day

Advanced Manufacturing Day was held on October 4th, 2018 at the Mayland Community College Yancey Campus. This event provided students exposure to the training options and career opportunities related to advanced manufacturing. Over 120 middle and high school students took part in the event. Students received a tour of the Anspach Manufacturing Center to learn about the equipment and the related manufacturing programs offered at Mayland.  Students also talked with the NCWorks Career Center staff regarding careers and services available at NCWorks and met with local industry representatives about local job availability.  Industry representatives on site included:  Richard Gambill with BRP, Bryan Peterson and Brian Greene with Altec, and Mary Kay Rayfield and Kevin Franklin with HSM-Hickory Springs.
